HAR Inspector is a macOS app for inspecting HTTP Archive (HAR) files. HAR files can contain URLs, headers, cookies, request bodies, response bodies, tokens, email addresses, and other sensitive data. Treat imported files as confidential.
Data processed by the app
HAR Inspector processes the files you choose to open, drag into the app, or import through system integrations. The app may create local analysis records containing file names, request summaries, project names, annotations, saved filter presets, custom security scan rules, and bookmarks that allow reopening files you selected.
Local storage
Analysis records, projects, annotations, saved presets, custom rules, and recent-file bookmarks are stored on your Mac in the app container under Application Support. Original HAR files remain in their original location unless you explicitly export or save a new file.
iCloud Sync
iCloud Sync is off by default. If you enable it, HAR Inspector syncs projects, saved analysis summaries, filter presets, and custom security scan rules through your Apple iCloud account. This data is transmitted to and stored by Apple as part of iCloud. HAR Inspector does not upload original HAR files to iCloud automatically.
You can turn iCloud Sync off in the Pro Center at any time. Turning it off stops future sync from the app, but previously synced data may remain in iCloud until you delete it from iCloud Drive or Apple account storage.
Network access and analytics
HAR Inspector does not include third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or telemetry. Network access is used for Apple platform services such as StoreKit purchases and iCloud Sync when those features are used.
Exports and sharing
Exports are saved only to locations you choose. Some exports can contain original request URLs, headers, cookies, payloads, and responses. Use redacted exports and review security findings before sharing files outside your team.
